"ARAGUA POLICE GONE TO MY SON 18 MONTHS AGO"
Mariané Yohana Vargas - Hurricane "Nothing better than truth"
Another case that adds to the long list of missing persons in their human rights violated by the Aragua police is that of Darwin Martinez Marchena, young 24, whose whereabouts were unknown for 18 months and apparently would be the responsibility of the main body of the entity police.
The complaint - to the hurricane - was made by Mrs. Olga Marchena, mother of the missing, said the girl was 23 years when no more was heard of his whereabouts.
"He lived in Merida with his wife and children, came to visit me Turmero December 2006. He was taken prisoner officials Patrol Special Brigade of the PA, because it allegedly was wanted for petty theft in Merida. However, a lawyer we demonstrated Merida court documents in hand that my son was clean, then was allegedly released from jail where he was at the headquarters of the BEP, located in the Arturo Michelena sector in Turmero. "
added that despite the complainant who provided information the police, her son never came home, and traveled to Merida, "can not find it anywhere. So reported the case to prosecutors in January 2007. "
After much red tape, finally the Inspector General of Police of Aragua with prosecutors decide to do an inspection in the cells of the BEP in March 2007 (three months after being reported missing).
"not found a mi hijo luego de esa inspección, pero testigos me informaron que el muchacho fue sacado de ese lugar y entregado a otros policías de la comisaría 19 de Abril. Hasta la fecha no sabemos nada de él, ni en hospitales, morgue o psiquiátricos”.
El caso es investigado por la fiscalía 20ª de Aragua y recientemente fue elevado ante la comisión del Ministerio de Interior y Justicia que investiga presuntos hechos de abuso por parte de la policía de la entidad.
